Description

The new Scarpa Phantom 8000 Thermic are a further development of the standard 800 and are suitable for the ultimate frostbite. This is because these expedition mountain boots have been kitted out with Thermic technology. This makes them the first expedition boots with an integrated thermal system. At 1450 grams per boot (size 42), they are not that much heavier than the pure 8000.
Other than that, however, much remains the same: they are still amazingly lightweight expedition mountain boots and, with their multi-layer construction made from a very high gaiter, supportive inner shell and removable inner boot, are ultimately waterproof and feature outstanding heat retention. The fully crampon-compatible, reliably stiffened sole is also indispensable for high-altitude mountaineering - in this style, it is made from a particularly light and excellent insulating material.

The sole is designed for extreme mountaineering.
The 8000 boot, which is optimally kitted out for extreme mountaineering in frosty temperatures and windy conditions, already features PrimaLoft® insulation in the waterproof gaiter, but the inner shell and inner boot are also equipped with lightweight and highly effective high-end cold protection. From the all-round debris protection to the highly abrasion-resistant schoeller® S-Tech material of the gaiter and the easy-to-use 2-part quick lacing system of the firm, supportive inner shell - all the details work together perfectly and provide uncompromising support for alpinists when mountaineering at high altitude.
<p
The multi-layered sole of the Phantom 8000 Thermic, which is made from cushioning, insulating, heat-reflecting and stabilising elements, is also designed for maximum performance with the best possible comfort. The term Vibram® Newflex refers to a particularly lightweight sole construction that provides optimum grip in steep high mountains and is of course designed for wearing automatic crampons.
