This Rother hiking guide presents all the stages with sights and detours.</p><p>From the Franconian Lake District in Gunzenhausen to the Danube Gorge in Kelheim, the Altmühltal Panorama Trail runs along the Altmühl in 15 comfy stages. It is also ideal for families with children. Along the way, you will come across caves with pre-Christian traces, Celtic redoubts and relics of Roman fortifications. With a bit of luck, you may find fossils of ammonites millions of years old. The paths are lined with medieval castles and interesting museums. Highlights include the Jura Museum in Willibaldsburg Castle in Eichstätt and Prunn Castle.</p><p>Each stage is presented with a reliable route description, an informative elevation profile and a tour map with the route marked.
