Description

The Grigri belay device from Petzl is the absolute classic among the semi-automatic devices - not for nothing is it perhaps the most used belay device on sports climbing rocks and in climbing gyms, because it is easy to operate and enables smooth belaying with reliable brake support in the event of a fall. The release can be finely adjusted with the lever.

For the current new edition Petzl has revised the Grigri for even better operability and a longer lifespan. As you can see from its appearance, it is based on the model of the former Grigri 2. On the inside, Petzl has installed an even more robust steel brake plate, so that the Grigri has become slightly heavier, but also more durable.

A new small cam on the rope channel on the climber's side reliably holds the rope in the intended rope channel. Previously, when blocked, the rope could slip sideways out of the guide in the device and clamp there - such as when pulling the rope under load when the climber pulls himself up on the rope after a fall. This makes handling even more comfortable.

The Grigri can handle ropes between 8.5 mm and 11 mm in diameter, but works best with 8.9 to 10.5 mm thin ropes.
